if define textview as:
<textview style="@android:style/textappearance.devicedefault.large" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="hello world!" /> it same doing:
<textview android:textappearance="@android:style/textappearance.devicedefault.large" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="hello world!" /> i know style kind of broader qualifier (i.e. 1 can't set attributes in android:textappearance) raises question: why bother? there advantage of using android:textappearance on style?
you can have 1 style attribute per view, using textappearance allows in essence define style using restricted set of text-relevant attributes. can use both style , textappearance in 1 view.
